A number of my blog posts have been to share my attempts at time-lapse photography. My skills in this medium are developing; there is much to learn, but here are some samples of my efforts in roughly chronological order.
- Lunar eclipse of 2015 – no blog entry, just a link to the finished video.
- Solar eclipse of 2017 – don’t blink or you will miss totality.
- A Night with the Sunflowers – an attempt to see which way they face at night. I am quite fond of this one even if I didn’t find out.
- Boundary Water Skies – taken during our covid escape camping trip. Check out our fifteen minutes of fame.
- Penrose tiling – by Ken Adelman.
- Penrose tiling – by me, using GoPro tools.
- A Night on the Playa, the back story. The time lapse videos are at Polaris on the Playa, and Under the Same Sky.
- Moonrise over St Croix Crossing – riverboats under the moonlight.
- Superior Forest Skies – Here is the time lapse of the same name.
The following are more recent projects, the Vimeo link is embedded, followed by a link to the blog entry about it.
Aurora | Taken during a week traveling near Fairbanks Alaska, in March 2022. |
Texas Road Trip: Lunar Eclipse | Taken May 15, 2022 during a reconnaissance trip to Fort Davis Texas |
Manitoba Nights | Acquired during a week at a fishing lodge a few miles south of the arctic circle. The aurora was disappointing, but the fishing was not. |
The Rock with Wings | A lucky night in the New Mexico desert. |
